UP Space Gallery Now Calling for Proposals

UP Space Gallery is established by the artists' collective, Ultimo Project Studios Inc.  It is an Artist’s Run Space and a not-for-profit organisation.  Its inauguration began last year with the group’s Salon Show.

The aim is to provide a space to enter into a dialogue of visual arts for both unrepresented professional artists and emerging artists.

Studio Members' Residency in Beijing

Therese Kenyon and Jan Fieldsend have recently returned from an artist in residence program with Redgate Gallery in Beijing. They are working towards an exhibition in 2010/11 showing new work influenced by their time in China.

Barbara Licha selected for the Alice Prize

Barbara was amongst the 52 artists pre-selected for this year's Alice Prize.

The work shown will be exhibited along with other 52 finalists' work.

Call for artist submissions: headland 2011 (NZ)

Next year’s headland Sculpture on the Gulf 2011 will be the fifth biennial exhibition set along Waiheke’s spectacular coastal walkway during summer 2011 from January 28 to February 20.

All work for headland is selected especially for the exhibition. The selectors’ panel for 2011 all have national experience and include Trish Clark, Chairperson  for the Advisory Panel for Public Art; Heather Galbraith, Senior Curator/Manager Curatorial Programmes at the City Gallery, Wellington, Te Whare Toi and James McCarthy, Executive Director, Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts.
Selected international artists are eligible for financial assistance

CALL FOR ENTRIES JOHN FRIES MEMORIAL PRIZE 2010

The John Fries Memorial Prize 2010 is an award of $10,000 and a solo exhibition at Viscopy's contemporary art space, Blackfriars off Broadway.

This annual prize is open to all artists resident in Australia whose work is not represented in the collection of  a regional, state, territory or national public art gallery.

 Artists of all ages and disciplines, whether members of Viscopy or not, are eligible to enter.

The prize has been donated by the Fries family in memory of former Viscopy director and honorary treasurer, John Fries, who made a remarkable contribution to the life and success of Viscopy.
